In our Vedic scriptures, killing a Brahmin is deemed the worst of sins. It is called Brahma Hatya Dosham. and he who kills a Brahmin is considered the greatest sinner.
As per Our Vedic scriptures, Shri Vishnu's and Other deities' incarnations were involved in killed the Brahmins. In the Ramayan regime, Shri Ram kills Ravana, who abducted Sita. Ravana, though the king of rakshasas, is considered a Brahmin, a great scholar of the Vedas, a devotee of Shiva, a composer of many Shaivite hymns and astrological texts. Therefore, in many parts of India such as Rameswaram, Rishikesh, Nasik temples etc.
It is stated that Shri Ram atoned for the crime of killing Ravana by performing penance. In the Mahabharata, Shri Krishna encourages the Pandavas to kill their guru, Dron Acharya, also a Brahmin. In this case it is not just killing a Brahmin, but also the killing of a preceptor. Also, as per the Puranas, Lord Shiva is also associated with the act of killing a Brahmin. He slices off the fifth head of Brahma when the creator chases his daughter, Shatarupa, through the sky. This skull gets stuck in Shiva’s hand, and he wanders the earth until he comes to the city of Kashi. It is here that the skull is said to leave Shiva’s hand after he washes his hands in the Ganga. Shiva is called Kapalik, or the one who wandered the earth with the head of Brahma. Additionally, Shiva is also associated with the killing of Daksha Prajapati, another Brahmin. Astrologically, Due to afflicted Jupiter - An afflicted Jupiter in 6/8/12, Debilitated Jupiter, Jupiter with Rahu, Rahu afflicting Jupiter ruled signs by being placed etc. all these are the examples of Guru Dosham (Wrath of Guru); In some severe cases Guru Dosham also followed by wrath of preceptor(s) which is due to Killing /Troubling a Brahmin or a preceptor. Also, Troubling/killing the Cow, Troubling the Brahmin Communities) come under the same dosham.
Lord Shiva during the course of his discussion with Goddess Parvati once said: -
Meaning- There is a great pilgrimage called Kapallochan ( kapaleshwar mahadev Temple,Panchvati Nasik), there are various praises of this Temple, a native who worships the deity with all rituals and ardent devotions, get relieved due to the afflictions caused by Brahma Dosham.
Shiva further stated that - ''O goddess! There his skull has fallen. So, bathing in the kunda has power to eliminate the sins of killing a Brahmin (Guru Dosham), in this pilgrimage Kapaleshwar Mahadev is situated in the north. Here Ramkund is a sacred bathing ghat on Godavari and the epicenter of the Kumbh Mela in Mahrashtra''.
Ramkund is associated with Lord Shiva, and the Kapaleshwar Temple here is said to be the only temple in the country without an idol of Nandi.” If a native bathe at Ramkund, he/she will be gotten relieved from the Brahma-hatya dosham .Ramkund is also where Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman are believed to have spent a few years during their 14-year long exile. Around eight kilometers away is the birthplace of Lord Hanuman in Anjaneri hills. It is believed that when Brahma had approached his daughter Prithvi with wrong intentions in his mind, Lord Shiva had cut one of his heads off from his body with the help of his Trishul. Brahma’s head got stuck in his hand and Lord Shiva then became sinful. In order to get rid of this sin Lord Shiva had to descend to the earthly realm to perform penance. Ramakund where Lord Shiva took bath, and it is believed that for every individual it is recommended to take a bath once there in Ramakund to evade from his sins.
