Cancer is a movable & watery sign which signifies fertilized egg moving in Uterus. Ashlesha Nakshatra span is Parked in Cancer sign. It signifies Serpent in water.
Thousands of sperms enter a female’s body during intercourse. Sperms look more like a serpent, so a serpent is a representation of a sperm. Sperms are from the Parental side. Out of them, only one enters the egg. This sperm is called Shesh or one who is remaining. The ability to enter the egg is called Sankarshana Shakthi or appropriate attraction power. In the Bhagavata Purana Shesha is named Sankarshana, the tamasic energy of Shri Vishnu himself, and is said to live deep within the inner layers of patala, where there are many serpents with gems on their heads and where Sankarshana is the ruler.
Generally, Vishnu is Sheshashayi. Sheshashayi means the one who rests on the rest. Here Shri Vishnu is called Garbhodhakashayi. Garbhodhakashayi can be split as Garbha, Udhaka and Shayi. Garbha means womb, Udhaka means fluid and Shayi means resting.
Therefore, this means Shri Vishnu( The cosmic creator) is resting on the fluid in the womb.
Shri Vishnu is an indication of universal energy in the body or Aathma. Name given to Shri Vishnu at the beginning of the universe is an indication of the birth of a baby.The process of birth is summarized here because all the parts of an adult human body are now present in the baby. This is also a time when Jeeva gets established in the womb.
The deity for Magha is Pithar or ancestors. (Both Parental and Maternal).
Interestingly Magha Nakshatra falls in Sivha Rashi and the owner of Sivha is the Sun. Sun is also an indicator of a father.
In Pitar, the Dyaush Pitar means ancestors who give longevity. Naturally, many chromosomal abnormalities are fatal, so Dyaush Pithara are associated with the birth on mother earth. This suggests the phenomenon of rebirth. A Pithar takes the next birth on earth.The deity of Ashlesha is Sarpa and deity of Magha is Pitar. Therefore, this region is a region of Sarp and Pitar Sarp and Pitar are very closely connected because Sarp or sperms is a means for Pitar for rebirth. That's Why Rahu represents Grandfather and sperms belong to the Parental chromosome.
Again in Uterus baby is being formed (means initiation of a body -i.e. Aries)
The first Nakshatra is Ashwini which governs the maternal side because the speed of Ashwini Kumara suggests the rate of growth of a baby in mother's Uterus so Ketu belongs to the maternal side of chromosome.
This is also related to Lord Hanuman Birth in Aries asc Who has energy of Ashwa( horses ) and Vayu (Wind) that's why he is called Vayu Putra. All these are interlinked and well-eleborated in Rigveda and Nakshatra Suktam.
Shri Krishna’s incarnation in Magha suggests the hierarchy of lord Vishnu . Interestingly enough Shri Ram was born when the Sun was in Ashwini Nakshathra. Kethu signifies Moksha or state of enlightenment and the Sun signifies Aathma or pure consciousness. Therefore, the birth of Shree Ram and Shri Krishna when the Sun is in the Nakshatra of Ketu suggests enlightened souls.
